Biography of Suzanne Collins


Born in 1962, Suzanne Collins earned her M.F.A. ( master of fine arts) from New York University in Dramatic Writing. Suzanne Collins began her official career in 1991 as a writer for several television shows for Nickelodeon, The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo,Clarissa Explains It All, Oswald and Little Bear. She was recently the Head Writer for Scholastic Entertainment’s for Clifford’s Puppy Days, and self-employed on Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! While working on television shows, she met a children's author, named James Proimos, which encourage Collin's to write children's books. This then leads to the New York Times best selling middle age children books, Underland Chronicles series, from 2003 to 2007 which was based on Alice In Wounder Land. During 2005, Suzanne Collins wrote rhyming picture for the book When Charlie McButton Lost Power by Mike Lester. Then later on in 2008 to 2010, Suzanne Collins published The Hunger Games trilogy which sold more then 1 million copies within 14 month in the United States. Now in 2012, the book The Hunger Games, will be transformed into a live action Loinsgate movie directed by Gary Rose.
