Wikimedia North American Book Cover

The first trilogy book published by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games, revolves around Katniss Everdeen, a young teenager from District 12 who volunteered for the hunger games. The setting takes place sometime in the future long after the disaster of modern civilization in North America. This hunger game event was created by the Capitol after defeating all twelve districts for their rebellion against the Capitol and the obliteration of District 13. The wealthy Capitol, would select a young boy and a young girl from each of the twelve districts to host an annually televised last man standing death match against each other. The game are made to entertain the people who resides within the Capitol, the punishment for the rebellion and also to remind the twelve remaining districts how much power the Capitol has on them.

  1. That's a great summary of the Hunger Games. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I hope the movie matches up to the book!
